Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's been a pleasure gaming with you all. At this time though I regret to inform you that Z-City is no longer in Sabbat hands.

Over the last few months we, your ST's, have had a ticking clock in the background with your actions directly affecting its speed and progression. Sadly that clock has not stopped or even slowed. To that end. All but Naberius and Simon are taken to an undisclosed location where you will be re-united with Bitte, albeit across a room, in a steel and perspex cage. Drained and Staked there you remain.

Those with the 'virus' are not so lucky. You are examined over nights and weeks until the cause, transmission and cure is found by your Camarilla doctors. Once you are no longer useful you are disposed of.

A city once claimed from the Tower is in the hands of the tower once more.



The Parasite:

The bug is evolved to use vamps as a host, in this case Babesia. It is possible that the protozoa would then have evolved to shed the gametocytes into the blood and is thus using a ghoul as the definitive host to carry out sexual reproduction and making them assymptomatic. The sporozoites are spread to the Vampire through feeding on an infected and in this case dead ghoul. The ghoul has access to vampire blood thus giving the parasite access to vampire blood, and with ghouls being property and in many cases promiscuous the bug is able to persist almost indefinitely in the ghoul population. Due to the back and forth of blood supply between ghouls and in some cases vampires and the similarities in blood it would follow that it could be possible for a Vampire to act as either the definitive or secondary host making it possible for the condition to be assymptomatic in either the ghoul or the Vampire.

So in this scenario old mate bites an infected person, becomes the secondary host, the reproductive cycle means that the gametocytes are present in the blood in the Vaulderie and are passed to the pack who are now assympotomatic definitive hosts, until they become infected later as a secondary host after receiving sporozoites at the following vaulderie.

Chapter 3 - For Whom the bell tolls

Terrorism threat increases as another explosion rocks the city. The Cavendish Meat Packing factory was targeted some time earlier this week. Speculation remains as to why it was targeted. Anyone with information is to come forward to the ZCPD.

In a move that has seen much criticism within the community Hallifax ammunition have decided to continue with their planned reveal of their new designs as well as preview new models still not yet on the market. The Morning After the Night Before

Simon Middlewaithe and Winston Russel take the next step to finding the taken Fireflies. It takes them to a Floral shop named "In Bloom" that is clearly being protected by some people. The two Malks take a very peculiar approach to entering this shop but eventually they do make it inside. However, what they find isn't what they were looking for. When it is moreover time for these Malks to leave they run into quite a few hiccups that leaves some of them not standing.

Not convinced the Affliction is mundane, Seth incorporates a Blood Feast Ritae to simultaneously purge the tainted blood from his body, and replace it with consecrated vitae. The Communion that Seth usually gets instead only amplified the existing visions, though whether the Purge had an affect on the Affliction remains to be seen upon waking...

A missive goes out to the Cardinal, a copy is sent to the other two bishops:

"As per your instructions, Cardinal Rishi, I sought to consolidate mortal influence by interrogating Ms. Chloe Winters, a reporter for the local news. She had the late Jacob Burns's financial and influential contact information in her mind. I was going to retrieve it, to add to our influence within the city and beyond.

However, before my agents could bring Ms. Winters to me, Bishop Murdoch Bratos tore her head off, "In repayment" for my experiment in Briarville last week. Since Ms. Winters is now deceased, I cannot read her mind to find out Jacob Burns's extensive web of contacts. Therefore, I must regretfully report that in that particular line of inquiry, I have failed the sect. It is fully my responsibility, and I submit myself to thee for punishment.

I do hope Bishop Bratos will likewise come to explain why he decided to weaken the position of the sect by killing this woman, when he was made full aware, by my previous missive, as to why she was important to the sect. In that missive, I also made it quite clear that I would consider the premature death of Ms. Winters to be a failure of duty to the sect.

I am saddened by his violation of the sixth tenet of the Code of Milan, but am quite sure that Bishop Bratos had some sort of reason, beyond petty revenge to my person, for putting his desires above the command of the Cardinal and the good of the sect. I humbly defer to his immense wisdom in this matter, as we were told to let the entire matter rest by Cardinal Rishi himself, which I did... and if Bishop Bratos continued to seek revenge in this matter, he must have very good reason to do so. I look forward to hearing why, as I'm sure it was extremely well thought out and implemented in such a way as to justify this violation of our sacred Code.

I will continue to attempt to do your will, Cardinal Rishi, and will seek other avenues of influence to make up for this loss to yourself and the sect.

She calls upon Courtney and Chelsea explaining she needs help and have them rush to the Fort. However, when she can't explain the disappearance or whereabouts of Jacob they become anxious until they eventually snap. Will Zuster have two freaked out ghouls on the loose from this moment forward?

He takes KK to Fort Quinn where Bitte tries her best to help out but in turn doesn't do much but finds out that Alistar is a bit of a control freak, not as good at lying as he thinks he is, and hiding some of the story of how The fireflies became True Sabbat again.

A New Encounter

Bitte while in Fort Quinn waiting to hear from her Fellow pack mate and Ductus Franklin Hachette , she is visited by a new Cainite ... Gene. He is in need of a pack and she is in need of new members and She tries to bring out the inner Jacob by offer this new souless a place to stay at the Fort while also getting to know him a bit better.

Responding to the Bishop's summons to all clergy in the city, Bill Crawford, the newly raised priest of the Motherfucking Prometheans journeys to the Bookstore for a discussion of spiritual matters among the Sabbat of Zuster.

Unwelcome Guests

The Fireflies Pack and Bishop Middlewaithe barge in on the Cardinal at the Lakeview Hotel in Grandview overlooking Red Lake. They come seeking answers as to the exact nature of Jacob Burns' crimes. They eventually get an accounting by the Cardinal after failing to give any information that would solidify his innocence in the matter. They are given a choice over the unlife of both KK and Jacob Burns. Sealing both of their respective fates for now and for ever.

The more things change...

Bishop Simon Middlethwaite goes to see the Fireflies and inform the his overseer role and the wild hunt for Jacob Burns. KK does not take the news well...

About that Jailbreak

Krueger returns to Murdoch with an update concerning Vicker's whereabouts.

Marching Orders

Alistair and KK are summoned to see Bishop Bratos, who gives the Fireflies orders and makes them an offer.

Aftermath

This scene takes place right after the one called "Pack Meeting".

After all that transpired two Caine's Bastards talk about what to do next. How to move forward from their current position.

I got 99 problems, but my Posse ain't one

The Unblooded Fireflies gather to discuss scenarios, options, facts, conspiracies - and how one can't tell which is which. Suspicion and distrust abound, but not within the pack. KK begrudgingly accepts that the pack's loyalty to her is a good thing, and Alistair takes the newer egalitarian nature of pack politics to speak out more.

...Te'kel Par'sin

Seth Cardigan and Winston head out the following night after Seth's meeting with Cardinal Rishi. Alastair does come and join them, to which they unanimously accept the Cardinal's invitation to join KK in disgrace. Solidarity Sister!

Plan B

After finding no trace of Vicker at the police station Krueger seeks out Simon to check if he can still feel his bond to hte Brujah. Krueger has a plan, but it turns out Simon has an even better plan.

Legate Seth Cardigan receives another vision, which leads him to the Cardinal's hotel. Events are discussed, decisions must be made, and the prospect of future benefits as well...

The First Synod of Zuster City

The Bishops of Zustercity meet and talk about packs and the well being of the city.

Pack Meeting

The scene starts off with most of the Caine's Bastards meeting up for a Pack Meeting before they realize they need to go and see the Cardinal to explain their absence at the Black Mass among other things. They go there in three different groups with the Professor arriving there first. The meeting with the Cardinal is tense at first but it becomes really intense when Jacob Burns openly defies the Cardinal's Authority and goes against every word he says. When the Cardinal is about to execute Jacob Burns his pack springs into action to plead for mercy and his life. However, when asked by Rishi whether he'll take his punishment Jacob Burns once again defies the leadership and in doing so seals his feat in his betrayal of the Sect. With Jacob Burns gone there needs to be a new Ductus of the Caine's Bastards. Bitte and Franklin duel for the Ductus-position in a dark room, with loud music (Mozart's Mass Requiem in D-Minor) and flaming blades.

How's it rolling?

Jacob Burns and KK meet up after a long time of not speaking. They discus the various things going on in the city and KK asks if she can hang around for a few days...

With Baited Breath

Kaylee, Alistair and Joseph Krueger take a brave attempt of breaking in to the South Blackstone ZCPD Precinct. Their plan: to extract Vicker T. Bennett. Their result: a break in to the police station that is fairly empty because of a disturbance in Riverdale. Will they find Vicker and get him out safely?

Prisons Break

Vicker has been spending some days in Zuster City jail and he is slowly realizing that his blood supply is running low fast. He needs to act before he will have no time to at all anymore.

The Lonely Commissar

Having been away from Cainite society for quite a while Eric Mandrake, also known as the Commissar, wanders the streets once again to find it certainly not as hospitable as before. He eventually runs into the new and improved ZCPD and finds out what happens when ants are better organized.

The two agree on the state of the city and there may just be a fruitful working relationship between the two in the future.

A Long Time Coming

Alice finally makes her way to Fort Quinn to confront Jacob. For many weeks she's been hearing from many sources that he's pissed with her. Truths are revealed and it ends in an impromptu monomancy.

Building the Handbasket

Legate Seth Cardigan goes to meet/greet Jacob Burns regarding the current ZPD issues their packs are dealing with. Discussion and torture uncovers some facts, but creates more questions as well, especially when the two Malkavians haves shared visions of being eaten alive....

It's Your Boy - Eli

Desperate Cainites call for desperate means. Kaylee and Alistair go to the Ebony Hole to ask Eli for help but at a cost they might not have been willing to pay.

Assembling the Team

Krueger gets in touch with Alistair and requests a meeting with KK. The trio meets and starts hatching a plan to bust Vicker out of jail.

Two new faces wander into Briarville and meet one of the locals.

Deranged Dreams

Winston wakes up from what to him feels like a fever dream with some realization about the female Cainite he spotted on the city streets.

Status Report

Rishi meets for a Status Report on the city. A city that is a failure in his eyes but one he is keen on whipping into shape. The other figure however seems to be a whole lot less forgiving than him. Before you, you will see a clash between two very different Paths and ways of thinking within the Sabbat.

The root of the problem

Franklin meets with Alistair and Seth to talk about the police report, and finding the cause of the police attacks.

Corrective Measures

Cody Miller receives his punishment from Murdoch Bratos while Cardinal Rishi watches. Cody tries his hardest to get out of the a spear and eventually does make it out before the sun rises. The Cardinal for his part shows Cody that he is not a total waste of space and is informed of Vicker Bennett being in prison right now with Bishop Bratos having a plan to free him.

The Scholar meets the Professor and gets more questions his Malk mind could take.

Bad News Bears

Franklin and Bitte see the bad news unfold on t.v. A little panicked they get into contact with each other to discuss the matter in person. They feel that whatever has happened or will happen doesn't spell any good news for the city. What they do know is that the lives of the Cainites in question have just become a lot more difficult.

Black Steel, Hourly Chaos

Fresh off of the Black Mass, and taking to heart the encouragement from Cardinal Rishi & Bishop Middlewaithe on the role of priest, Legate Seth Cardigan calls a pack meeting for Alastair's Blooding. The Lucid Legate sets up a Test of Pain for the rite, though without a Blood Feast as he'd intended. Alastair puts up a good attempt, but loses against the Legate with his hand in addition. Ductus KK is next, and frenzies upon losing to Alastair (along with her hand). Winston, still blind, tries to overcompensate and ends up frenzying twice. After KK returns from her frenzy, the Blooding is done and Vaulderie cements Alastair's pack membership. Pack meeting then occurs to discuss how to handle the Mortal Problem. Seth also chastises KK and Winston for their behavior at the Black Mass.
