The night ends with Bitte chasing off one Caneite by the name of Bane and both Bitte and Winston in torpor by the hands of a new Cainite Willam Becker and his dog.

This is a fairly straight-forward scene in which Owen has send out word to the Cainites of the city that he has a few proclamations to make. Things get a bit tense when a newcomer tries to watch the proceedings from the shadows but things quickly take a turn for the better. The Cainites gathered choose two Bishops, Murdoch Bratos and Uncle Vicker, and one is under consideration being the Professor. They talk about what to do about the Archbishop and also the sudden lack of funds around the city.
